Srinagar records hottest night of the season so far at 21.9 degree | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 14: The summer capital, Srinagar, has witnessed the hottest night of the season so far after mercury surged and settled at 21.9 degree, four notches above normal, though there was some respite during the day from hot and humid weather. A Met spokesperson here today said weather is expected to turn pleasant in Kashmir valley, where rain will occur during the next five days. He said Srinagar recorded the hottest night of the season after mercury surged and settled at 21.9 degree, against 20.2 degree recorded yesterday. The night temperature recorded was around four degree above normal. Though there was some respite from hot and humid weather conditions during the day as the temperature recorded was slight below normal. Against 32.5 degree recorded yesterday, the temperature was 29.7 degree. He said there is possibility of light rain and thundershowers during the next 24 hours in Srinagar, where maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 30 degree and 21 degree respectively. Meanwhile, world famous ski resort of Gulmarg also witnessed a surge in the night temperature. Against 13.4 degree recorded yesterday, the night temperature was 16 degree, which is four notches above normal. The day temperature in Gulmarg also witnessed a surge in the day temperature. Against 22.6 degree recorded, the day temperature was 23.6 degree, which is about 3 degree above normal. Similarly, border town of Kargil and Leh in Ladakh region also witnessed a surge in the night temperature. Against 19.1 degree recorded in Kargil, it was 20.1 degree while night temperature witnessed in Leh was 25.1 degree, against 20.6 degree recorded yesterday. The spokesperson said sky will be partly cloudy in Leh, where maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 33 degree and 24 degree respectively. However, there was a slight dip in the night temperature in the world famous health resort of Pahalgam though it was still around five degree above normal. The health resort also witnessed a dip in the day temperature as well. Against 28.8 degree recorded yesterday, it was 25.6 degree. |
