Public warned not to move near river Chenab 7/20/2016 10:51:05 PM Early Times Report Jammu, July 20: The management of Salal Power Station has cautioned general public about not to move near River Chenab on June 18 from 00:30 hrs to 18:30 hrs. The project management in a press statement issued here today said, "The General Public is hereby informed that in order to maintain the Dam and Power House of Salal Power Station and to retain the water at a required level, the water level of Chenab River can increase or decrease at any point of time in between 22.07.2016 (8 AM) to 23.07.2016 (8 AM). "Hence everybody residing besides the Upstream and downstream of Salal Dam is requested not to venture near the River bank. They should also avoid their cattle and their Trucks going to the River side. "This co-operation will support to save the general public and their belongings," it said, adding, "anybody violating the request shall be doing so at his own risk and responsibility and Salal Power Station authorities shall not be responsible for loss /consequences thereof", the management stated.
