Decision on snapped mobile internet after all party meeting | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 20: The decision on snapped mobile internet services is likely to be taken by divisional administration Jammu, following the all party meeting scheduled to be chaired by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday. The mobile internet services remained snapped for the 10th consecutive day in Jammu region, after the killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani on July 8 in Kashmir valley. Sources in Divisional Commissioner office pleading anonymity said that the overall security situation in Jammu continued to be peaceful and to avoid any incident, government had banned internet mobile services. "Few days back Deputy Chief Minister had held meetings also with civil society of Jammu, who have assured full support for not allowing anyone to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere", the official said, adding that after the tomarrow's review meeting, the Divisional Administration Jammu would take call on the issue. On being asked if the internet services would remain suspended till August 15th, which coincides with conclusion of holy Amarnath pilgrimage, the official said that though decision would be taken tomarrow, but there were very remote possibilities of extending the mobile internet services ban to such a long period. The business community is the worst affected by the ban of services besides the student community is also badly hit as it's the peak time of admission to various courses and most of admissions' information is uploaded on the internet and without which, it has become a problem for them. Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal didn't pick up his phone despite repeated calls. |
