Backdoor appointments by three ex-Speakers | SVO ignores supplementary evidences in its report …? | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 20: In the infamous backdoor appointments case allegedly involving three ex- Speakers of J&K Legislative Assembly, State Vigilance Organisation not only avoided filing of FIRs but also ignored supplementary evidences in its report, notwithstanding the fact it established irregularities having been committed in giving jobs to the kith and kin of the high profile politicians of the state. Sources said SVO authorities ignored the supplementary evidences that would have further substantiated the case against the three ex-Speakers Mohammad Akbar Lone of NC, Tara Chand of Congress and Mubarak Gul of NC who in their tenures occupying highest seat in the temple of democracy in appointing people while throwing norms so laid as a matter of precedence for selection procedure of making appointments in the Assembly . These norms and rules came into force in 2001 and later in 2005 when the appointments were sought to be made through proper advertisements, sources said, adding that these were thrown to winds when people were taken through backdoor. Sources said SVO, apparently did not make a mention of the expression favouritism, nepotism or acts of corruption committed in making backdoor appointments . This is for a purpose and reason of protecting these high profile politicians who appointed people from particular constituencies. They comprised candidates who were in blood relations( real brother and sister, two real brothers ), besides kith and kin of some other high profile politicians belonging to different political parties and senior babus, sources said. Maximum appointments were made from a particular district from where one of the Speakers obliged people of his constituency, something which has again not been mentioned in the report by the SVO. The people so taken through backdoor also comprise some who belong to affluent families and are richest of rich, sources further said, adding that the number is not just 37 instead more than 85, names of which were mentioned last in ET newspaper. While SVO has ignored all these aspects for a purpose and exhibited it has two sets of procedural methods and parameters for investigating cases of corruption, sources said its modus operandi is also impacting the other investigations being carried on in the matter, sources said. However, the civil society in general is only hoping against the hope for justice from the judiciary in favour of those who were eligible for getting jobs in the Assembly and who have been deprived due to backdoor entry of ineligible due to political influence, sources said. |
