BJP minister shields SHO who beat up Bajrang Dal activists | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 20: Serious differences have reportedly emerged between different organizations over failure of the BJP leadership to convince the government to take action against one SHO of the city who had ruthlessly beaten activists of Bajrang Dal some days back. A few organizations have alleged that a close aide of senior BJP minister is shielding the SHO, despite the fact that the police officer had intentionally targeted Bajrang Dal activists to settle scores with them in an old case. The SHO, who is heading a police station in the city, had picked up some protesting workers of Bajrang Dal last month when protest was going on against unfortunate act at Roop Nagar area. The SHO had picked up senior Bajrang Dal activists and took them to unknown location where he along with some other cops ruthlessly beaten and interrogated with third degree treatment. After brutally beaten them, he took these activists to an isolated place in his vehicle and thrown them out. Credible sources said that for the last more than one month, senior leaders of various organizations were taking up this issue with the BJP leadership but no action has been taken because the said SHO, who is known National Conference, has close proximity with the prominent bussinessman of the city, who is close confidant of the senior BJP minister in the government. When some BJP leaders mounted pressure on the government on the take action against the SHO, the senior BJP minister intervened and asked the party leaders not to interfere the functioning of the administration. Credible sources further revealed that the prominent bussinessman of the city, who is known for his proximity with a senior BJP minister, had earlier tried to appoint thisSHO on the plum position of Bus Stand through a deal which could not be materialized. As a compensation the said police officer was appointed as SHO in another police station of the city. |
