Jammu, July 20: Members of Food Corporation of India (SLCC), Raman Suri and Soba Ram alongwith General Manager FCI, Kishore Kumar and Area Manager Rupesh Kumar took a surprise inspection of FCI, PEG-Birpur Jammu Godown today, whose capacity is 10,000 MT. According to press release Raman Suri and Soba Ram, who were nominated as members, SLCC of FCI, J&K in the year 2015, again inspected one more godown of FCI on Wednesday. They said that they are quite serious about the functioning of FCI and CAPD and always want that the people of J&K get the best quality food grains from CAPD. During the inspection, they checked the storage techniques, inspected the quality of wheat and rice. The quality of food grains inspected was found very good and they appreciated the efficient working of the godown. Speaking about quality of food grains, they said that FCI was committed to provide quality food grains to CAPD, who provides it to the public. They said that they will try their best to enable a GPS system in trucks to avoid pilferage. Instructions were given to the staff of godown that any loaded truck, which is not sealed by a canvas, should not be allowed to enter the premises, as without canvas there is every chance of spoiling of the food grains especially due to rains. |
