| JKGA organizes district championship | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 12: Jammu and Kashmir Gatka Association today organized first open Jammu district Gatka Championship 2016 in KC Sports Club Jammu in which Rangil Singh Ex-Minister and President Jammu and Kashmir olympic association was invited as Chief guest in closing ceremony recently.
AK Misra Principal KC Public School Jammu , Jasbir Singh Chairman Unique Higher Sec School Jammu, Iqbal Shah Chief editor Udaan were the guests of honour on this occasion. Manmeet Singh Amn Chairman JKGA, HS Gill Vice-chairman JKGA and Ravinder Singh President were also present. About 100 gatka players both males and females from the different schools, colleges, university, gatka training centre / akharas from Jammu district participated in this district championship.
While speaking Gill conveyed full support on behalf of the chief Guest who could not attend due to some urgency and received memento for chief guest from Chairman JKGA
Finalist of Under 14 boys demonstration are Harpreet Singh (Gold medal), Akash Deep Singh(silver),Pawandeep Singh(bronze) Finalist of under 14 girls are Nittu kour(Gold)Finalists of under 17 boys demonstration are sarabjeet singh(Gold),Onkar singh(silver) and Mandeep singh(Bronze)
Finalist of under 19 single stick individual boys are Gagandeep Singh (Gold), Ranjit Singh (Silver) and Manhasdeep Singh (Bronze) Finalists of under 19 stick fight are Rasleen kour (Gold), Raspreet kour(Silver).
Guests of honour while speaking extended their full support to JKGA for providing the platform for the promotion of gatka in the state and congratulated medals winners.
