Valley unrest: Mobile internet service snapped again in Jammu region | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Sept 12: Keeping in view the prevailing restive situation in the Kashmir Valley and apprehension of misuse of the internet facilities in Jammu region, the government today ordered snapping of mobile internet service as preventive measure. in the wake of fragile situation in valley, the mobile internet service has been temporarily snapped in the Jammu Province to prevent rumor mongers from spreading any kind of hatred messages and provoking pictures and as well as video clips. As per official, a complete snap down of mobile internet facilities have been announced in Jammu, Samba. Kathua. Udhampur and Reasi districts of jammu province. He said that in context to the subject matter, you ( the service providers) are requested to snap down complete mobile internet facilities in Jammu. Samba. Kathua. Udhampur and Reasi district of Jammu province with effect from 0400 hourstomorrow positively till further order." The official further said, " the step is undertaken as preventive measure to avoid any law and order problems and passing of rumours by miscrcanis/anti national elements." Earlier the mobile internet services were snapped on August 5 in Jammu region in view the prevailing restive situation in the Kashmir Valley and fresh protests in Ramban and Doda districts of Jammu region Pertinently the mobile internet service earlier was restored two weeks ago after the suspension of around 17 days due to tense situation in the Kashmir Valley since July 8 when Hizb Commander Burhan Wani among four militants were killed in a fierce gun battle by the security forces in Pulwama.
