| Is VC JU above Chancellor? | | Decision overturned | | ET Report
Jammu, Sept 12: It seems that Vice Chancellor of Jammu University has struck down decision of the Jammu University Council, the top decision making body of the University headed by none other than the Chancellor and the Governor, few days after the resolutions of the previous JU Council meet were circulated over one man one post, by giving dual charge to a Professor who was already Head of an academic department.
One of the glaring examples of these violations surfaced when Vice Chancellor crushed the decision of the University Council, thus bringing disrespect to the official properity and decorum.
The University Council, which is the highest body, sources said adding that one Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia who is Head of Remote Sensing Department JU has been given additional charge of Director Sports and Physical Education within couple of days thus infringing the decision of Council to discourage one man one position in the affairs of varsity.
According to sources, there are many other teachers who are holding more than one administrative position in the campus, which included Prof Anil Raina, HoD EVS and Director Udhampur Campus, Dr. Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academics Affairs and DLL, Prof BC Sharma Director Business School and Dean Students Placement. Prof. Rajnikant has been portion as Director Ramnagar Campus. He is also holding the charge of Chief coordinator in all Campus. Prof. Jasbir Singh has been given the charge of Chairman NSS, Course coordinator in Economics DDE, besides Head FM Centre in campus. Prof Jigar Mohd has been given the charge of HOD History and DRS.
Taking dig at inexperienced and incompetent Vice Chancellor, who is fully self centered and replete with arrogance, the sources said that he has made university as his fiefdom to make whole university and its personnel as puppets for dancing to his tune being a bluff master.
They said that Pro Chancellor and Chancellor should come forward to save the University from the clutches of naive Vice Chancellor who is hell bent to destroy the whole cadre and academic atmosphere in the campus. |
