Jammu Sept 12: First Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu, M A Chowdhary today awarded one year impriosnmnet to a man and his son in an attempt to murder case. Janak Raj, son of Bansi Lal, his son Indrjeet alias Kaka, and one Sukhdev alias Kali, son of Mohinder Lal, all residents of Patnyal had made the murderous attack on one Harbans Lal and Bodh Raj near Shiv Mandir at Gangwan. After hearing the two sides, the court observed that the offences punishable under sections 307 and 325 of RPC and 4/25 of Arms Act had not been proved against the accused. "However, it has been proved that all of them had caused injuries to Harbans and Bodh Raj. Hence, they have been convicted by this court for the commission of offence punishable under section 323/34 of RPC," the court said. "Taking into account the facts and circumstances of the case, this court is of the considered opinion that it would be appropriate that each of the convicts is sentenced to maximum sentence of imprisonment. They are, therefore, sentenced to imprisonment for one year," the court directed. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on them.(JNF) |
