| Azadi movement' gained momentum in Kashmir during BJP rule: Harsh | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu Sept 12: Holding both the union and the state government responsible for pushing the state into a vortex of violence, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman and Former Minister said that BJP in particular owed an explanation to the people of the country for having brought disaster in Kashmir Valley with open space to anti nationals and subversives and imposition of restrictions on the security forces.
While addressing a huge public gathering at Village Khoon of Tehsil Majalta, former minister and JKNPP senior leader said that the appeasement policy followed during the last 18 months resulted in emboldening the separatist and subversive elements with situation ultimately having gone out of the control of the State Govt.
Launching a scathing attack on BJP, he said the huge mis-match between BJP's rambo-esque rhetoric and its actions with respect to Kashmir had deeply antagonized the nationalist forces all across the country.
Asserting that anti national movement in Kashmir gained momentum during BJP rule, Harsh said that militants' support base had widened with Pak appeal having increased manifold. He said that BJP rule witnessed escalation in militancy related incidents in the Kashmir Valley, large scale border incursions and infiltrations, countless pro freedom rallies, spurt in incidents of waving of Pak flags and ISIS flags besides dishonor of national flag.
He said that the situation which was almost normal prior to the last Elections had fastly deteriorated during the past with BJP actively toeing PDP line. He said that in sharp contrast to its pre-election jingoistic harangues, the BJP was indulging in flip flops and opportunist politics which brought the state to boiling mode.
Lambasting Dy Chief Minister for his highly irresponsible statement on the dreaded terrorist Burhan Wani, Singh said that it had not only exposed the political opportunism of saffron leaders but also had a demoralizing effect on morale of security forces. He said that no amount of political gimmickry could help it camouflage it its real face and character. He said that BJP must realize that it is during its own rule at the centre and the state that the Kashmir Valley has plunged into terrible abyss.
Regarding the local issues of Majalta people, Harsh Dev Singh assured the public to agitate their concerns at the appropriate forums.
Meanwhile he also sought a high level probe into the Rural Development Deptt scam in Khoon Block wherein one GRS of the Deptt had tendered resignation citing massive corruption prevalent in the Deptt as the reason for his quitting the Job. He said that JKNPP shall resort to agitational course against the Rural Development Deptt. trying to cover up the fraud and attempting to shield the culprits.
