CS, DG appeal for peace, communal harmony | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Sept 12: Ahead of Eid-ul-Azdha falling on Tuesday and amid prevailing unrest in Kashmir valley, Chief Secretary Jammu and Kashmir B R Sharma along with Principal Secretary Home R K Goyal, Director General of Police K Rajindra Kumar, Director General of Police Law and Order today held a peace meeting at Kishtwar and appealed to the people of communally sensitive Kishtwar to maintain peace, communal harmony and brotherhood. Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan, DIG Doda/Kishtwar/Ramban range Nisar Ahmed, SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Kumar Wazir, Commandant IR 5th Battalion Mohammad Arif Rishu, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma, Addition SP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom, officials of District Administration, heads of various department along with over two hundred prominent citizens also attended the hour long meeting held at conference hall of New DC Office Complex Kishtwar. While addressing the meeting various prominent citizens advocate stern action against the hate mongers involved in destabilizing peace and tranquility not only in Kishtwar District, but in a state as whole. The speakers hit hard at government over appeasement policy towards the separatists and ignoring the main stream parties and the nationalist people including social activists who worked with the successive governments during militancy days and helped the government of India in restoring peace in trouble torn state of Jammu and Kashmir. The speakers unanimously called for restoration of security cover withdrawn from main stream political leaders and social activists added that it was due to non availability of security cover; various political activists cannot roam freely and thus prefer to stay away instead of helping the government and the administration in restoring normalcy amid ongoing Kashmir unrest. "We are hearing the centre government has asked to withdraw security and other perks to separatist and others who are fuming trouble in state of Jammu and Kashmir--- but I am sorry to say that till it (Directions) reaches in the state (J&K), the separatist word change into mainstream" said an angry speaker. He said that instead of acting against the separatists and trouble shooters, officials and the bureaucracy are busy in harassing the mainstream politicians by withdrawing their security cover. The speakers also slams the police and administration over their callous approach towards arresting the culprits involved August 2013 Kishtwar communal violence, the accused of murder against whom local court issues warrant U/S 512 Cr.PC are roaming free and are even visiting the government offices. "General Public have reports that few government officials were transferred from Kishtwar for their allege role in vitiating peaceful atmosphere in Kishtwar--- what action government had taken against such officials who are fuming trouble--- transferring an officer is nothing and cannot solve the purpose" said a speaker added that Service Conduct Rule 23 clearly indicates that such officials involved in anti national and anti peace activities should be dismissed from the services. The same speaker also slammed the administration for allowing government officials to head religious organizations or their participation in such committees besides calling them to attend official meetings. He said that such activities are banned for government employees which need to be checked. Various speakers hail this remark and asked the government to act against such elements. The speakers also demanded action against the employees who took part in protests, beside against the instigators who are instigating the youths. The speakers said that some elements having political ambitions were involved in communal flare in Kishtwar District that has witnessed peace at the time when who state was under fire and advocated that government should look into as why Kishtwar witnessed communal riots in 2013 when there was peace everywhere. The speakers also highlighted various developmental issues including dilapidated condition of Kishtwar-Batote road, Sinthan-Kishtwar road, Kishtwar-Palmar road, delay in execution of Patimhala to Hanzal road, poor quality of Atta supply, strengthening of heath department, water crises and several other issues. Some speakers also want to bring an end to agent system in government offices. Some speakers also hails the role of DC Kishtwar, SSP Kishtwar and local police officer including Dy. SP operation Kishtwar Irshad Ahanger for playing its role and personal efforts in maintain and achieving peace in Kishtwar and assured full support to Administration and Police in continuation of peace, beside asked for pulling up the District and sectoral officers who are taking the public complaints for granted. |
