| GCW Udhampur organizes Inter-College Poster Making competition | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu. Oct 7: To commemorate the Wildlife week, Science club of GCW Udhampur organized an inter-college Poster making and presentation competition on the theme "Save Wildlife- Save Environment".
The event was coordinated and sponsored by Dr. Sanjay Kharoo District Coordinator J&K State Science, Technology & Innovation Council, District office Udhampur. Around 24 students hailing from G.G.M. Sc. College Jammu, GDC Udhampur, GCW Udhampur and Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur participated in the event .
Earlier, Dr. Bhavnaish Chand, Convener, Science club of GCW Udhampur apprised the participants about the theme and its importance. He said that the competition will provide an excellent opportunity for reminding us particularly the students about the crucial need of protecting all forms of wildlife for preserving the ecological balance. Addressing the participants, Prof. K.S. Koushal, Principal of the College said that humans are continually expanding and developing leading to an invasion of wild life habitats. He stated that purpose of the event is to educate and create awareness about wildlife among the youth particularly when country is facing environmental issues.
First, Second and Third prizes in the competition were clinched by Basaat Choudhary, Anjana Kumari and Surbhi Mahajan of GCW Udhampur respectively. Consolation prizes were shared by Shubham Sharma and Aman Saini from GGM Science College Jammu and Shivangi Verma from GCW Udhampur respectively.
Dr. Anil Khajuria from Zoology Dept. GDC Udhampur, Prof. B.P. Singh from Botany Dept. GCW Udhampur and Prof. Sumita Rao from Zoology Dept. GCW Udhampur were the judges for the event. |
