JE oversteps his domain, dismisses six daily wagers of PDD | PDD advises casual workers to seek private jobs for themselves | | A B Sharma
Early Times Report
Sunderbani, Oct 7: Sending to the guillotine, the six daily wagers (casual labourers) of Power Development Department, the concerned Junior Engineer in Sunderbani has established that his writ prevails in the department. The concerned Junior Engineer has overstepped his domain allegedly to adjust his blue eyed for a particular border work in the area. As per the information given by these six CLs, they were called up by the Junior Engineer and on the pretext of telling them that since they have to go to difficult terrain to execute their daily works on borders, they were advised by the JE to stay back as they would be adjusted in other various works. The CLs said that after getting the assurance from the JE, they stayed back in a hope that they would be adjusted in some other works. However the sources claimed that the JE duped these daily wagers and adjusted his blue eyed in the squad of 12 new people. Those who were kicked out of their daily waged job included Jagdish Raj, Kala Kumar,Babu Ram, Rakesh Kumar, Rinku Kumar and Chaman Lal. All were the appointees of 2003 batch and have been serving in the PDD sub division Rajouri. While the JE threw these six people out, those other six who were adjusted by the Junior included are Ravi Kumar , Rinku, Kamaal Din, Rakesh Kumar, Raju Kumar and Jagmohan . These new entrants are being paid hefty Rs 4500 per month which is against the advisory issued by the Government order issued for casual labourers who are put in the bracket of Rs 2700 to Rs 3000 only. Babu Ram, a daily wager who had been thrown out by the concerned Junior Engineer and had filed an RTI a year ago to get the information on the misdeeds of the Junior engineer and got no response, approached the concerned Assistant Engineer PDD Rajouri with a lament about the high-handedness of the JE. To his astonishment, he also got a rude shock from the AE who tried to hush up the case asking Babu Ram to seek for some private job rather that going for RTIs against the JE which he said will fetch no reward. Meanwhile, the thrown out casual labourers as well as the residents of the area are contemplating to file a FIR against the concerned JE so that he could be quizzed over his misdeeds for which the poor and hapless daily wagers are suffering. The daily wagers have also appealed to the Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, who holds the portfolio of the power to intervene in the matter and save the poor and hapless daily wagers. |
