Separatists pushed to irrelevance by US stand on Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 7: Pushed to the wall of irrelevance the separatists have been hit by the US, which has made it clear that separatists have no role in solving the Kashmir issue and has in subtle but strong manner clearly hinted that it has to settle on the stand of the Indian Government. The separatists couldn't have asked for more trouble after having pushed people of the Kashmir to the vicious cycle of violence and misery and facing retribution. The separatists have been consistently saying the Kashmir is as dispute and it has to be solved as per the wishes of the Kashmir (while clearly not taking the consent of the people of Jammu and Ladakh region). They were terming the present cycle of violence as return of the '90s, when violence was at its speak in the valley and there were some sort of support from the US and other western nations. "The separatists were thinking that like in '90s they may get some sort of support from the US and this could atleast have given them some sort of face saving grace, to atleast tell the people that they have achieved some thing. But, the US has not only given them cold shoulder but has not recoginised their existence even. It's a rude shock to them and this will set the process for more questioning by people at the logic and tactics of the separatists," said a senior official. The sources said the separatists have been now consistently asking their mentors in the Pakistan to give the opinion of even a section of the world community I their favour to get them out of this situation. But, with Pakistan itself finding it difficult to come out of onslaught launched by the India, it has now little hope to offer to separatists. "A thinking had come in the Kashmir that if India doesn't accept their stand , they can build up pressure of influential section of the world powers and were in particular banking on the support of apart from US of the Germany and Russia. But they too have accepted the stand of the India and this is double trouble for separatists. The coming days will see more trouble for separatists and it could also in a manner set the process for peace in the valley," said the official. |
