JAMMU, Nov 5: The St. Xavier School clinched the boys' volleyball title in the ongoing Sportathon Cup 2016, organised by KC Sports Council, here today. In the final, St. Xavier trounced JK Public School in straight 3-0 sets. Earlier, in the semifinals, St. Xavier defeated KC International School 2-0. The competition was officiated by the technical penal including Sita Ram and David Sandhu. Meanwhile, in the ongoing indoor cricket tournament, KC Sports Club beat JK Public School by six wickets. However, in the ongoing outdoor cricket event, JK Public School registered a two wickets win against Army Public School Domana. Strength Lifting Championship Competition held Poonch An impressive inaugural ceremony of strength lifting championship under the banner of J&K Strength Lifting Association was held at Health and Fitness centre Poonch. Zulifkar Choudhary , Minister for CAPD congratulated the youth and association for holding such a kind of championship for the first time in border district. He said that youth is future of any region and stressed upon youth to participate in sports as sports are no longer neglected area but huge opportunities are waiting in sports. |
