Sports men fume at disregard to SFGI calendar by DYSS | | | Nitish Bhardwaj
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 5: The callous attitude of higher ups of Department of Youth Service and Sports (DYSS) can be gauged from the fact that the authority books tickets for players on the spot causing great inconvenience as some players are forced to go through general coaches. Sources within the department said that one year calendar had been issued by School Game Federation of India (SFGI) for school nationals on its official site which includes date, venue, state and every detail but still higher ups do not take initiative to book the ticket prior to the tournaments. Despite several complaints by the parents, the higher officers have not held the concerned officials accountable for their apathy further added by source. Parent of a player divulged that the Department of Youth Service and sports (DYSS) knew months in advance about the championships and have ample time to organize and get the reservations done, but officials were completely indifferent to the plight of participating players. When contacted District Sport Officer, DYSS, Sukhdev Sharma said that on the spot reservation used to be done by the department but now, authority has assigned duty to 2 employees for booking the tickets in advance for the convenience for players. |
