'Send Geelani, Mirwaiz, Malik to jail to end unrest in Kashmir' | Separatists snatch common man's right to earn his livelihood | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Nov 5: Common man in Kashmir is caught between the arsonists and stone-pelters, who are on rampage and want to burn the entire Valley. Sources told Early Times that separatists have not made any attempt to rein in the elements, who are damaging vehicles, injuring people and burning schools. These miscreants enjoy the patronage of the separatists and get the money for doing all this. "The attacks on civilians are increasing. Hooligans are ruling the roost. Lawlessness is prevailing everywhere. Miscreants are unleashing terror on the streets of Kashmir. Despite civil war being on in Kashmir separatists are acting like saints and are claiming that they spearheading the peaceful agitation," said an analyst. He said, "Common Kashmiri who is tired and fed up of all this non-sense has nowhere to go. People who could afford to migrate have shifted to Jammu, Delhi and other places but a common man in Kashmir who doesn't belong to affluent class is running short of ideas." A Kashmir watcher said, "The state government is very much aware about the fact that separatists are behind the arson, loot and burning of schools in Kashmir. Despite the government being aware about who is doing what no action is being taken against the three kingpins, Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and so called JKLF Chief Yasin Malik. They are the biggest threat to peace. They should be arrested and send outside JK." He said that track-II team led by former union minister Yashwant Sinha, holding talks with separatists has emboldened them and they have started believing that they can call the shots and make the Government of India kneel before them. "For doing so they are not allowing violence to end. It seems they have changed their strategy. Miscreants are terrifying the civilians, who are defying the protest calendar. They resort to stone pelting even during the relaxation period announced by the separatists. They do all this amidst darkness so that they are not identified and arrested. On the other hand a few people have been employed by the separatists to spread rumours and create confusion. They have been assigned the job of spreading canards like youth being killed, an area has been burnt and bullets are being fired. Such rumours create panic and add to the uncertainty," the Kashmir watcher added. He said, "Amidst this uncertainty common man is caught between the devil and the deep sea. His right to livelihood has been snatched, even his right to come out and look for ways and means to earn his daily bread is being violated. Transporters, traders and others are waiting for this senseless shutdown to end but Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik are not allowing them to do so. The so-called representatives of Kashmiris have turned out to be their biggest enemies." |
