Another soldier falls to border shelling in Nowshera sector

Rajouri, Nov 8: During last three days third soldier has attained martyrdom in Nowshera sub division in Rajouri district in heavy mortar shelling from across the Line of Control today.
On November 6, sepoy Gursewak Singh of 22 Sikh regiment and Rajendra Narayan Tupare of 22 Maratha Light Infantry (MLI) unit had attained martyrdom in Krishna Ghati and Mandi sectors in Poonch districts respectively.
20 year old Bimal Tamang resident of Dharan in Nepal posted with Gorkha regiment and manning the LoC in Balakot sector in Poonch district had also attained martyrdom and was survived by his mother Nimaya Tamang.
Reliable sources said that at about 3.30 pm a vehicle of 54 Rashtriya Rifle was on way to Nowshera town when a mortar shell fired by the Pakistan army hit the vehicle and two soldiers were critically injured.
Both the injured were immediately rescued to the nearby army medical centre by the troops deployed in the area. But Naik Pritam Singh succumbs to his injuries and attained martyrdom while Naik Harvinder Singh was airlifted to army hospital in critical condition and people have been asked to remain inside their houses to avoid any fatality to them. "Pakistan army has been targeting forward posts and civil areas with mortar shells which are falling within two kilometer range from the Line of Control. Some loss to power electric transformers, houses has been reported from border villages. People have been asked to remain inside their houses and their shifting to make shift camps can't be ruled " said Harbansh Singh, SDM , Nowshera.
"Pakistan army has been targeting forward posts, villages namely Jhangar, Sarya, Anwas, Bhandar, Laroka, Lam and Kalal villages in the Nowshera sub division with 120mm, 82 mm mortar shells. Tension has gripped the entire area and the people are worried about the safety of their crops and themselves. All the schools falling near Line of Control (LoC) have been closed.
According to official sources one room of Ram Sawaroop has been damaged fully along with household items in Makri village, two electric transformers have also received heavy damage in the shelling, while two animals of Sita Ram were injured in Makri village.
On November 2 Pakistan army had resorted to unprovoked shelling/ firing in forward areas in Sunderbani and Nowshera sectors and and three porters were injured in Kalak sector.
On November 3 about one hundred nine people from Sehar Makri village had been shifted to high and higher secondary school at Nowshera where make shift camps have been made with every facilities on the directions from Deputy Commissioner.
