Representatives of Daily wagers, middle class ignored | Business tycoons act as chamchas of separatists | | Stakeholders Meeting!
Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Nov 8: The much hyped meeting of the so-called stake holders called by the separatists trio, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik here on Tuesday failed to impress the common people in Kashmir. Sources told Early Times that separatists had invited the business tycoons and financially well off people like Mushtaq Chaya, Choudray Showkat, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani and others for the meeting while they had ignored representatives from middleclass and the daily wagers. Insiders revealed that people who tried opposing the calendar and hartal politics were snubbed by the separatists and their yes-men. An educationist, who opposed the calendar and sought the immediate reopening of the schools was told not to behave like an "Indian Agent." They said, "The meeting was just eyewash. It was aimed at endorsing the stand of separatists. They (separatists) wanted to create a notion that they have got the mandate of people that's why they had invited their stooges and the people who pay hafta to them." After the meeting separatists issued a joint statement claiming that they have been given the mandate by the stakeholders to carry on with the halla-gulla in Kashmir. "The statement issued by the separatists is just a farce. The fact of the matter is that they didn't invite the real stakeholders. The henchmen of separatists even orchestrated a protest outside the residence of Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani. A few young boys assembled outside Geelani's residence and raised slogans demanding that strike should continue," said a source. An insider revealed, "Separatists know it very well that they have lost the plot as people are openly defying their protest calendar. They held this meeting to intimidate the people who are defying the shutdown and to send a signal to their henchmen to intensify stone-pelting and other anti-national activities. The meeting was organized on the instructions of their bosses sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) who want to keep the pot boiling." |
