Fed up of politics of Bandh, Kashmiris start questioning separatists | | | Early Times Report jammu, Nov 8: Separatists pushed to the corner, are now being questioned by the people of the Kashmir about the logic of holding meeting with representatives from shades of life to decide about the future course of action. There are visible signs that next round of strike likely to be announced by the separatists will have very few takers. SAS Geelani along with Omar Farooq and Yasin Malik had called a meeting on Nov 8 with all stake holder including ordinary people on two major issues: holding of exams and continuation of the strike. But, people now see it is a another political gimmick by the separatists to stay relevant when tides have started turning against him. "The separatists will now have to answer why such a meeting was not called when the first round of calendar of hartals was announced. Why now after about 100 dead and four-month of lock down . Have we or separatists achieved anything? The separatists know they don't have the answer so they are just confusion people to save their own skin," said a leading businessman of valley, who has suffered immense financial loss, though doesn't want to be named. The four-month long lockdown was planned way ahead with some tangible gain: forcing Modi to kneel down. But, it has not panned out as planned and this has resulted in many people for the first time questioning the logic of hartals and strike. "Separatists were digging their own grave , while many were made to die and many made to live half-life. Now they are being pushed into their own grave of political relevance. Even ordinary Kashmir are being more vocal on social media about the time to revisit the hartal calendar. It didn't happen in neither 2008 nor 2010 but it's happening now. So, some thing has changed and it has changed for the better," said a senior police official. |
