Mantri gets comfortable 'Sofa', J&K's future made to sit on floor | Scouts & Guides function | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 8: Education Minister Nayeem Akhtar talks too high about morality and good conduct besides keeping a close eye on the quality of journalism in Jammu and Kashmir. It is his oratory and writing skills besides continuous focus on encouraging the younger generation which has resulted in a self-acclaimed 'IAS' messiah of J&K distributing integrity, qualification and professionalism certificates from his official chambers. This IAS messiah has been posted in the power development department which is in mess but he prefers spending time in expressing his views on the Facebook and in separating good and bad Journalists. Amid this, education minister Nayeem Akhtar is invited by Bharat Scouts and Guides for a function where children are made to sit on the floor while the 'Sarkari Babus' occupy comfortable sofas and chairs. Though this is inconsequential who sat where but when the man in picture is someone whose followers and friends have taken the task of cleansing the system of the rot and distributing integrity certificates, one has no option but to raise question even over seating arrangements. Idealism cannot be one way traffic. Exemplary arrangement should have been made to the students since some of them are likely to become IAS officers and hence, they should learn from their teenage days how to sit on the "Sarkari Chairs'. But Bharat scouts and guides preferred the other way around. They forced the children to sit on the floor, majority of who were females while the minister shared the stage with an official who once used to be the best punching bag available in the administration for the ghost writers of PDP. Not even once the minister talked about the seating arrangement but went on with his 'wonderful' speech. The function and the seating arrangement does raise questions since it is better to practice what you preach. |
