DSE directed to file compliance report | Regularisation of daily wagers | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 8: High court judge Alok Aradhe has directed the director school education (DSE), Jammu, to comply with the court judgement as regards the regularisation of daily wagers within two weeks. In case of non-compliance of the court order, the DSE would remain present in the court on next date of hearing, he said. The court directive came in a contempt petition filed by the petitioner, stating therein that despite the lapse of 12 years of court judgment to regularise the service of the petitioners, who had completed seven years as daily wagers within four months from the date of judgment, they had not been regularised. This court vide its October 4, 2016 order had granted three weeks time to submit the compliance report. "However, neither the compliance report is filed nor any plausible explanation is furnished on behalf of the respondents as to why the compliance report has not been filed. The directions were issued by the court on February 13, 2004 and despite the lapse of more than 12 years, the directions have not been complied with till today. This is a matter of serious concern. The tendency of the officers to take the orders of this court in a casual and caviler manner has to be deprecated. Therefore, the court is inclined to accede to the prayer made on behalf of the respondents for grant of time of three weeks to file the reply and observed that in the interest of justice, two weeks further time is granted to submit the compliance report, failing which the DSE shall remain before this court on the next date of hearing, ie November 23, 2016," Justice Aradhe ordered.
