| Moral values have a direct concern with the human culture. The human culture denotes the totality of the social environment into which a human being is born and in which he/she lives. Culture in this sense includes the community's institutional arrangements (social, political, and economic) but also its forms of art and knowledge, the assumptions and values embedded in its practices and organization in various systems of ideas. The moral values are concept of moral development and are the process through which a human being acquires sensibilities, attitudes, beliefs, skills, and dispositions that make him or her morally mature or adequate human being. We can change character and mind by direct instruction as these are attitudes of participative response in social affairs. We must nurture the spirit of social cooperation and inculcate that in this arena moral values are at the top for personal growth through any kind of situation. There is, however, some likelihood of success if such values are woven into the very fabric, or organization, of day-to-day life in the school community, so that students encounter and absorb the true spirit of moral values. The education has made us and every individual to realize the true meaning of life and living in real perspective. To make it worthy, respectable, and easy going apart from education one needs moral values, which act as guiding principles in life, so moral values in a simple way can be defined as the principles that guide an individual as how to evaluate right versus wrong. Moral values are connected to fundamental human emotions and experiences that motivate us in distinctive ways. Moral values matter to us in important and distinctive ways, and that they can function as reasons to believe or do things. The values are things that people care about, desirable or undesirable. Any form of activity that involves making judgments about what is better or worse, good or bad, high quality or low quality, right or wrong, successful or unsuccessful, desirable or undesirable all of these judgments involve our moral values in one form or another. The sphere of our moral values have a great space in sports, values in art, values in social and cultural practices, values in science, values in relationships, values in economic transactions, religious values, our everyday experience is saturated with our moral values and moral value judgments. The moral values are characterized by the overriding love and concern that parents feel for their children. The sympathy and empathy we experience, when we perceive the suffering of others. The sense of duty and loyalty we feel to our family and close social groups, or broader communities to which we belong. The anger and indignation we feel toward those who threaten us or those we love. The feelings of unfairness and injustice we experience, when we are treated poorly, and others treated better, for no good reason,.The positive feelings associated with having the freedom to make our own choices and determine our own future, the admiration we feel toward those who exhibit courage and compassion and the guilt or shame we feel when we have violated trust or otherwise failed to live up to the values we endorse. Knowing what is right or wrong is an important element in life that shapes the character of an individual and defines the personal character of a person, so the moral values are a reflection of an individual character which provides a structure for our life. The moral values is not born instinct but imbibed in the individual right from the childhood. The basic foundation of an individual's character is developed during a child's early years and partly shaped by the values and beliefs of parents. Children are taught to show respect to elders and other people. Parents strive to instill these values in children because children tend to learn by observing what other people do. Educators and peer interactions also play an important role in moral values formation. The awareness in consonance with values and beliefs and company of successful souls incorporate the moral values for a meaningful living. Good moral values allow a person to make the right decisions and improve their interactions with other people. The reflection of moral values becomes apparent at the stage of adulthood, till that stage they are developed. People generally apply moral values to justify decisions, intentions and actions. A number of inner qualities which constitute the moral values are; " Compassion is one such component of moral value that allows one to have sympathy for the misfortunes of other people. Compassion results in us to have feelings of mercy towards other people. When we have compassion as a moral value, people are likely to put more trust on us because one will be non-judgmental of their circumstances. " Respecting the elders, neighbors, and the sick and other people within society helps to enhance relationships. As people get older, they need care and assistance where possible. " Good relationships help to create a good coexistence between people. In workplaces, people need to learn how to relate with both juniors and seniors. " Truthfulness is a moral value and within society culture it solves many basic problems wisely, to avoid a distasteful situation. Standing firm on what is right, no matter the situation, is always a courageous decision that improves the quality of life. " Modesty in life is essential to our survival especially in respect of courage. Modesty allows us to realize what our limits are. It helps us to stay focused and keeps us awat from becoming overconfident and reckless. People feel comfortable around souls having modesty and they feel that we don't try to belittle them. " When we have courage as one of the moral value, we can bravely face the world. Courage gives determination to face anything that impedes our progress through life. We become able to overcome any obstacle because we don't let fear hold us back. " It is also important to incorporate the moral value of forgiveness in our life. Forgiveness allows us to move past hurtful or damaging situations. It allows us to abandon feelings of anger or resentment against others or our self. We can be emotionally healthy when we practice forgiveness because it keeps us from holding onto pain and resentment. " It is important that an aim never be defined in terms of activity or methods. It must always relate directly to know life is better for everyone. The aim of system should be clear to everyone in the system. The aim must include plans for the future as it carries a moral value. Concluding, I will say the moral value speaks that 'Treat others good - They will definitely treat you better'. |
