'Demonetization'- women in dilemma to disclose their saving or not: Dr Bhagwat | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 14: RSS Chief Dr Mohan Rao Bhagwat Monday stood behind women as he claimed it is the housewives who is feeling 'inconvenienced' and facing the biggest dilemma whether to disclose her lifelong savings and deposit the same in the bank or not. Addressing a gathering of women under the banner of Nari Shakti Sangam here at Eden Gardens Dr Bhagwat said after the 500 and 1000 rupee note was banned by the Union government it is the women folk especially the housewives who are facing many hardships. "As core of a family, she had managed to save some money from her house hold expenditure given to her by her husband. Now if she declares it everyone including her husband would ask her about the source of money, he said. Referring to his interaction with one of the family over a cup of tea, Dr Bhagwat said when a husband asked his wife about the details of her savings I briefly told him it is wrong on his part to have questioned his wife." He said a male member of the family is responsible for earning livelihood and he hands it over to the elderly lady in the house. At the same time, he said it is the job of the house lady to organise budget of house hold items and plan accordingly. He said her job is to seek answers not respond to questions. On the occasion Dr Bhagwat said it is very important to educate the women as the onus of spreading awareness in the society and showing the right path lie on her shoulders. He said women constitute 50 per cent population and it is very important to empower them and educate them for the welfare of the whole society. He said there is no need to make comparisons between man and the women. "They both compliment to each other and become superior by helping each other. No one is supreme together they are both supreme, he added. |
