KPC hails PM's decision on 'demonetization' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 14: Terming the decision of Narendra Modi Government at Centre on demonetization of currency notes of 500 and 1000 as 'historic' and in the larger interests of national security and development, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) Chief Kundan Kashmiri today said that the decision to withdraw higher value banknotes is aimed to defeat corrupt and dishonest elements besides bringing transparency in the system. In a meeting held today in New Delhi, KPC Chief said that the decision to withdraw high-value banknotes as part of its fight to root out black money and to bring transparency will certainly strengthen Indian economy and spur growth. High circulation of cash also strengthens the 'Hawala' trade which is directly connected to black money and illegal trade in weapons. In funding of terrorists, our enemy uses fake currency and dodgy funds to sponsor terror - this has been proven repeatedly. Derecognizing Rs. 1000 and 500 notes beginning November 8/9, is the most significant move ever taken to curtail the parallel economy. Kundan Kashmiri stated that the demonetization of big currency notes is a welcome step and every right thinking people must appreciate it. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has taken right step to which we all should support this move, he said. |
