Samba, Nov 14: Continuing its drive against menace of illicit liquor and its sale, a Samba Police today arrested one bootlegger alongwith 65 pouches of liquor during a naka checking.at SIDCOP Chowk here today.
According to police spokesperson, a police team headed by SI Sunil Dutt I/CPP SIDCO under the supervision of Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO P/S Samba and Varinder Singh, DySP HQ Samba, laid a Naka at SIDCO Chowk Samba and signaled a motorcyclist driving bike bearing Registration No JK02AC-9540 to stop during routine checking."
"The motorcyclist instead of halting accelerated the bike and the police party gave a chase to the accused and nabbed him, police said. "During checking Police recovered 65 pouches (Frooties) from the possession of accused identified as Paramjeet s/o Gopal Dass r/o Shah Balore Samba, police said, adding, " the biker was smuggling liquor for sale on exorbitant rates in Samba area.
