Early Times Report Kishtwar, Nov 14: A youth who had come to Jammu and Kashmir Bank main branch Kishtwar for depositing the demonetized currency notes of Rs 500 & Rs 1000 on Sunday was robbed off by some persons while he was filling the deposit slip. As per the details available with "Early Times", the youth arrived at the bank for depositing Rs 40000 cash in his bank account. "Keeping the cash on side of the table, the youth started filling the deposit slip but when he turned towards the cash kept on the table, he found it was missing," sources said. Recalling the sequence of events, he said, "A youth was standing besides him who disappeared within no time after allegedly stealing his cash." "Soon after the incident, I brought the matter into the notice of bank authorities and requested for scrutiny of the video footage, he said, adding, "the youth involved in robbery has covered his face with a file but he could be clearly visible while entering into the bank premises." When contacted SHO Police Station Kishtwar Sameer Jeelani briefly said the victim had reported the matter to police but did not register any formal complaint. Police will investigate the matter when they shall receive written complaint, he added. |
