Early Times Report Kathua, Nov 14: The National Cooperatives Week celebrations commenced in Kathua Distirct today with unfurling of the Cooperatives Flag in the main function held at Cooperative Society Complex Kathua by Dr Bharat Bhushan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua. The Deputy Registrar, Cooperatives, Ms Gorki and Chairman Cooperative Society Kathua Karan Singh, representatives of Multi-purpose Cooperative Societies (MPCS) ,the office bearers of Cooperative Society, Kathua and officials of the Cooperative Department were among others present on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion ADC Kathua said that this year while we are celebrating 63rdNational Cooperatives Week, we must ponder over the contribution of Cooperatives Movement in the empowerment of our farming community, women and development of farm sector and the country as a whole. He added that cooperatives sector needed to be strengthened to ensure equitable development and inclusive growth. During the occasion special tributes were paid to former Deputy Chief Minister late Pt Mangat Ram Sharma and Late Om Parkash Sharma for their lifelong contribution in strengthening the cooperatives Sector in the District. At the onset of occasion, Karan Singh, Chairman Cooperative Society Kathua enlisted the achievements of the Society in the district. |
