Vijaypur, Nov 14: Angered by the stabbing of a youth twice, once in the market and later in the hospital, here last night, people blocked the national highway at Gurah Morh, demanding the arrest of the accused.
Pradeep Sharma of Vajaypur was critically injured when four criminals attacked him with sharp-edged weapons here at about 10 pm on Sunday. He was shifted by his family members to the accidental hospital, Vijaypur, where he was again stabbed by the four accused along with their three more accomplices, police sources said.
The accused later fled the spot. Angered by the incident, people blocked the highway for over an hour and a half. They dispersed peacefully after the additional SP and SDM, Vijaypur, assured them that the accused would be arrested soon.
People alleged that when they went to the Vijaypur police station to lodge a report, the sentry did not open the gates for over an hour. Police have, however, registered a case in this connection. |
