Establish Aadhaar, Voter card centres at Jagti: Sunil | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 17: In order to cover leftovers in Aadhaar enrollment and redress the problems of Kashmiri migrants on election pretext, Social activist Sunil Pandita today urged the government and raised the demand of KPs to establish Aadhaar and voter card centres at Jagti camp to facilitate the inmates. Sunil Pandita said though the most of the people were enrolled in the Aadhaar yet there were some left overs who could not enroll themselves for one reason or the other earlier. He urged the authorities to open an Aadhaar centre here at Jagti camp permanently for the benefit of migrants he added. Lambasting the complicated process of enrolling in elections the KP migrants have to run pillar to post for petty works. He said there is a dire need of opening an election office in Jagti camp itself where most of the migrant families were residing. "We have to go for our elections cards to the office of Relief and Rehabilitation commissioner's office and there from they send us to Shankar building on Akhnoor road near Toph bridge which consumes a lot of time. Sunil said, adding our female and old age people find it very difficult to reach such places from Jagti which is quite far way. If an election card centre is opened in the camp our problems could be mitigated to a large extent as most of people have not received voter cards till now despite filing of forms and submitting photographs of family several times, Sunil added. |
