Jammu, Nov 17: To mark Children's Day, Sesame Street Preschool, Talab Tillo, Jammu celebrated the jovial spirit of young learners through a series of day-long events filled with enthusiasm. A display wall was made with pictures of children doing different activities that they enjoy. Children were pleasantly surprised to see this wall beautifully painted with their pictures. 'Aspirations' was the theme of the day and children came dressed in attire depicting what they want to become when they grow up. Parents and educators also performed skits, song and dance performances for children. They were thrilled to look at their parents and teachers dance on the favourite songs. Children also learned about the significance of Children's Day through an enactment by one of the educators who was dressed as Jawaharlal Nehru and narrated insightful stories. Many exciting games were also organised in the preschool premises including 'Target Golf' and 'Ring Target'. The biggest hit of the day was the Photo Booth Corner where children got clicked in funky props. During occasion Sesame Street Preschool also launched a fund-raising campaign encouraging parents to donate towards providing quality early childhood education to other less privileged children studying in Anganwadi Centres across India. Mona Singh, vice president, Sesame Schoolhouse said , "Children's Day celebration is all about giving the child the right kind of knowledge and freedom to enjoy so that they can grow as healthy and educated citizens of the country. We at Sesame Street Preschool believe in providing the right impetus to children, giving them a food for thought to understand such celebrations and the purpose and feeling behind it. |
