Jammu, Nov 23: In a PIL, highlighting alleged hushing up of Rajouri Development Authority (RDA) scam, a high court division bench of Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today directed respondents to file the fresh status report.
The PIL alleges that instead of registering an FIR despite the approval of Director Vigilance, the case was converted by SVO into regular departmental action (RDA) against the delinquent officers - then RDA CEO Mohammad Javed Khan (presently custodian general, J&K), then executive engineers -- Khushal Chand and Devi Dass Heer - junior engineer Gurcharan Singh.
Javed Khan filed the status report in the court today. He was issued a show cause notice on October 3, 2016 to explain his position as regards the poor adjudication.
After hearing the two sides, the bench said since 15 days' time was over, the senior AAG, appearing for the respondents, was directed to file a fresh status report, explaining the present position. --(JNF) |
