JKPSC rectifies wrong doings, selects 8 candidates from Jammu | Little relief for aspirants in Assistant Professor selection | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 23: The candidates from Jammu province had a major relief after the publication of selection lists for the posts of Assistant Professors in Biotechnology as nearly 40 percent candidates were found selected in the posts of Biotechnology, which is signal towards end of appeasement policy towards Kashmir valley students. Pertinently, earlier the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission had announced results of Mathematics, Physics and English, in which most of the selected candidates were from Kashmir province and Early Times had reported the case. As per the selection list of English subject in Open Merit category, 70 percent candidates were from Kashmir region while only 31 percent candidates were from Jammu province and same was the status of selection list of Mathematics subject in which wider representation was given to Kashmir based candidates and very meager to Jammu region. It seems that JKPSC has taken serious view of the matter and probably tried to rectify the misdoing and this time, out of total 18 selected candidates for the posts of Bio-technology eight are from Jammu province while 9 are from Kashmir province and one from Ladakh region. In the open merit category, a total of 10 candidates were selected out of which six are from Srinagar while four are from Jammu province. In the RBA category out of total of four posts three candidates are from Kashmir province while one is from Jammu. In the Schedule Caste category there were only two posts and both selected candidates are from Jammu province. While in the two posts of Scheduled Tribe (ST) category one candidates is from Kargil and another is from Jammu. "We have taken a sigh of relief after seeing the selection list of Biotechnology posts and we hope that same criteria will be followed in near future", an aspirant said, adding that the selection list of English and Mathematics was a reminder of discrimination with Jammu province. |
