Mr Abdullah, problem in Kashmir is religious, not political | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 23: After destroying Kashmir and becoming irrelevant in the Kashmir's political arena, Farooq Abdullah's son and former J&K CM Omar Abdullah has turned his attention to the Jammu's Doda district to vitiate its atmosphere. Ever since the defeat of the NC in 2014, the jobless Abdullahs have been seeking to vitiate the state's atmosphere. They believe that such attempts on their part could help them restore the space the party lost to the PDP in Kashmir and to the BJP in Jammu and Ladakh. They refuse to accept the reality that Jammu and Ladakh are not Kashmir and that much water has also flown down the River Jhelum in Kashmir. It is not Kashmir where Kashmiri Muslims would trust the Abdullahs; it is a different Kashmir with a different type of politics is being played by many and it is they who poisoned the ears of the Kashmiri Muslims against India and also destroyed Jammu and Ladakh socially, culturally, economically and politically. As if what Farooq Abdullah said a few days ago in Kashmir was not enough, Omar Abdullah on Tuesday told the Muslims of Doda that "Kashmir was a political problem that needed to be resolved politically". As for Farooq Abdullah, he had said that "Kashmir was never an integral part of India and it shall never be". He didn't say Kashmir was part of which country and civilization. Everyone knows Kashmir has been part of India, Indian culture, Indian civilization and Indian history since time immemorial. At least, it was not part of Pakistan, which came into being only on August 14, 1947. Omar Abdullah says Kashmir problem is political. Absolutely not. Kashmir has been at the helm of affairs since 1947. All the Chief Ministers of the state were from Kashmir and they belonged to the sect to which Omar Abdullah himself belongs. The problem in Kashmir is essentially religious. All the Kashmiri separatists have said so in so many times and in an unambiguous language. They have all expressed themselves in facour Pakistan saying Kashmir is Pakistan's natural choice as both are Muslim. NC itself has on occasions more than one itself said that Pakistan is a stakeholder in J&K and New Delhi needed to talk to Pakistan for the resolution of the Kashmir problem. Omar Abdullah should stop making provocative, divisive and communal statements. The people of the state in general ans Jammu and Jammu and Ladakh in particular. |
