Srinagar, Nov 23: The Jammu and Kashmir government Wednesday announced that it was not in a position to pay Rs 10,000 as advance cash salary to its employees as announced earlier. In a circular(no. A/42(2016)- \WDC Dated: 23 .11. 2016) issued by the finance department, the government expressed its inability to act upon its own decision citing Reserve Bank of India's "difficulty" in providing additional cash to the J&K government. "Salary advance for the month of November 2016 to be paid to Non-Gazetted employees of State Government. Government Order No: 254 -F of 2016 Dated: 23 .ll. 2016; RBI has expressed difficulties in providing additional cash to Jammu and Kashmir Bank for payment of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand) advance salary to the Non-Gazetted employees of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir on 24th November, 2016," read the circular. Hence, the order read, the salary for the month of November, 2016 will be credited to the accounts of all employees at the end of the month as usual. "However, the employees are free to withdraw cash requirement from their bank accounts within the ceiling imposed by the RBI," it said. |
