Tehsildar Dooru, 2 others placed under suspension, enquiry ordered Illegal constructions on highway 6/28/2018 11:27:07 PM Saahil Suhail Early Times Report Anantnag, June 28: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir on Thursday placed Tehsildar Dooru and two of his sub-ordinate officials under suspension for allowing illegal constructions on Srinagar-Banihal expressway. An order in this regard was issued by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan (vide No. 166 DIVCOM-2018 DATED 28-06-2018). "Additional Commissioner Kashmir, who was appointed an enquiry officer has intimated that the spot verification was conducted and it was found that illegal constructions have been raised on Abi-Awal land in Dalwachi in contravention to section 113 A of Land Revenue Act and these constructions have came up without any hindrance put in by the revenue authorities," reads the order. The preliminary enquiry by the Additional Commissioner Kashmir has found three officers including Tehsildar Dooru 'guilty'. According to the order, a copy of which lies with Early Times, Tehsildar Dooru Muzaffer Ahmad Malik, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, Girdawar circle Verinag and Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Girdawar circle Dooru holding the charge of Patwar Halqa had allowed the illegal practice and were placed under suspension. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan had also ordered a departmental enquiry against the three revenue department officers and attached them with the officer of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag. Early Times on Wednesday carried a report on the illegal constructions along the expressway. The order issued by the Divisional Commissioner has vindicated this newspaper's report as it clearly states that the officers responsible for stopping the constructions 'slept over the issue'. Locals had informed this reporter that violators were bribing the revenue officers before staring the raising the constructions along the expressway. "These constructions come up literally under the supervision of revenue officers," they had claimed.
