SRS seeks release of pending GST with penalty by all govt deptts | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 28: Shri Ram Sena (SRS) on Thursday urged Governor and administration to ask Information Department to pay the GST chargeable on advertisement bills in the State pending from July 2017 with penalty. In a press note issued here today, the SRS state president, Rajiv Mahajan said that state government had agreed that GST chargeable on advertisement bills shall be paid by the government and it would be over and above the actual advertisement rate charged by the concerned media. He said the GST is applicable on all advertisements regardless of their origin whether the government departments or the private parties. Mahajan further said that on one hand it expects traders and businessmen to be transparent and accountable while paying GST honestly, and on another hand government departments have not paid GST dues to them which is sheer injustice and highly unjustified. He appealed the Governor to immediately issue a circular to all government departments to pay all pending dues of GST and that too with penalty. |
