| Drug peddler held with 15 grams heroin | | | Jammu, July 9: In continuation to the drive against drugs launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu- Vivek Gupta today Satwari Police today claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 15 grams of heroin (Chitta) like substance from his possession. . Police spokesman said that today during naka checking at Belicharana near R&B Bridge Jammu, one person on seeing police party tried to escape thereby causing suspicion to naka party but caught by alert naka party who revealed his identity as Tariq Ahmed Rishi of Rishi Mohalla Wachi in Shopian.
"During his personal search 15 grams of heroin (chitta) like substance was recovered from his possession", said spokesman adding that accordingly, a case under FIR no. 112/18 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Satwari Jammu and formally arrested the said person. The arrest was made by a team headed by Inspector Manjeet Singh-SHO Satwari assisted by SI Tariq Ahmed-in-charge police post Belicharana under the supervision of DySP Rafiq Manhas-SDPO City South Jammu Vinay Kumar in-charge SP City South Jammu. |
