Jammu, July 9: The neglect of rural areas y Mahbooba government becomes evident by her failure to appoint a single doctor in Ghat block of Doda district. For 13PHCs government sanctioned 27 posts of Medical Officers but not a single doctor was appointed", Reliable sources of health department told Early Times. Sources said that the rural areas of the state are facing huge shortage of doctors in District hospitals. These hospitals are over burdened and hence they fail to provide proper attention to the patients in the hospitals who visit there for treatment. This often result into public resentment or clash between doctors and patients attendants. "PHC Ghat has three posts of Medical Officer sanctioned, while two posts of Medical Officer at each PHC Gundna, Bharat, Bhagwa, Tantna, Dhara, Jodpur, Koti, Kalihand, Pranoo, Kastigarh and Dessa were sanctioned. It is very surprising for the last many years no doctors were posted here", sources said, adding that shortage of doctors and paramedical staff creates difficulties for the hospital administration especially in the event like accidents or the natural calamities. Though running of primary health centers round the clock has become need of hour to provide better medicare facilities to the people and maintain a good public health in rural areas, but astoundingly, the department concerned is not in a position to provide such services because whenever, people belongs from remote areas met the top officials of health department, gave excuse state has running acute shortage of doctors, so, where will be provide doctor to these health institutions.
