Early Times Report

Sunderbani, July 9: Despite being in spot light for its various illegal undertakings, the rural development department (RDD) Sunderbani is still evading any action for its misdeeds for last many years .
The works executed by the department in 2016-17 for various MGNREGA are still under the scanner, but no action has been initiated against the department despite the fact that a report has been submitted to Director RDD's office against large scale bungling done under the MGNREGA works.
A series of complaints were lodged by the local people of the area who had the rights to take up certain mandays' works under the MGNREGA scheme in 2016-17 and were denied the rights by the department by allocation the works to outside labourers .
" The work was executed by one person and the cheque was drawn in favour of the another who were the blue eyed of the department ," said one of the local worker of the area . A report of large scale bungling and frauds committed under the MGNREGA works was prepared by the ACD Rajouri Noor Alam .
People of the area allege that the Block Development officer Sunderbani in connivance with Village Level Workers ( VLWs ) prepared the list of the bogus beneficiaries and also included some outside laborers in the list of the MGNREGA works and got the payment released which was in well knowledge of the director .
"Even JCBs were used to execute the works, the payment of which were released from the department against bogus entries," said another local of the area .
The report submitted by the ACD to the director RDD contains all relevant documents of frauds and misappropriations committed in the process, but why no action has been initiated so far remains a mystery yet.
The people of the area have appealed to the Governor N N Vohra to constitute a vigilance team in this regard and initiate necessary so that culprits could be identified and genuine people of Sunderbani benefitted.
