| People protest against PDD, PHE authorities | | |  Early Times Report
Mendhar, July 20: Kissan Mazdoor Union Mendhar today staged protest demonstration and blocked Mendhar-Harni-Surankote road for about three hours.
The people were protesting against failure of the concerned PHE and PDD authorities and demanding restoration of services to the Panchayats of Harni The villagers came out on the road at main chowk at around 8 am and started protest dharna on the road. They were demanding that their electric transformer, damaged two weeks back be restored / replaced and water supply to the Harni Panchayats be restored.
The protesting villagers were shouting slogans against Executive Engineer, PDD and PHE Poonch and also Chief Engineer concerned besides the Sub Divisional officers. Later, Naib Tehsildar Harni Aftab Hussain Shah reached the spot and pacified the protesting people. They also spoke to the concerned Executive Engineers on phone from the dharna site. The people then lifted dharna after receiving assurance from them at around 12 noon. |
