Tukde tukde gang being pampered in Valley
Shehla, Faesal to contest election in Kashmir on NC tickets
7/20/2018 11:20:21 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 20: There is a word that Shehla Rashid of Jawaharlal Nehru University-based "Bharat Tere Tukde Honge" gang and IAS topper from Kashmir Shah Faesal, who is out in the United States on study leave, would formally join Omar Abdullah and his National Conference and contest election as NC candidates from Kashmir.
It is none other than Kashmir-watcher Barkha Dutt who has broken the news that both Shehla Rashid and Shah Faesal will formally join Omar Abdullah and his NC. She broke this news two days ago. Since the NC has not contested this news, it can be safely said that the news is correct and that it is only a matter of time when both will formally join the NC.
Shehla Rashid and Shah Faesal joining the NC would not be an ordinary development; it would be an extraordinary development. It would strengthen the belief that the NC is desperate to regain its lost status in the Kashmir politics. It would also mean the rise of politics in the Valley where members of "Bharat Tere Tukde Honge" gang will be accorded a dangerous respectability through legislative assembly route. It would also mean direct encouragement to others to do what Shehla Rashid has been doing to preach secession to become darlings of NC, which wants to snatch from Mehbooba Mufti political space she snatched from NC after 1999.
The development has proved that political parties are political parties. They can go to any extent to placate any individuals for short-term gains. Let's us wait and see when Shehla Rashid and Shah Faesal formally join the NC.
