JAMMu, July 20: Healthy India Stronger India (HISI)' a foundation managed by its Chairman Hira Lal Abrol under took a distinctive initiative and organized an extensive Self Defence camp for its students. The objective of the camp was to empower the girl students with techniques to save themselves and help others who needed protection from eve teasers, chain, bag snatchers or attackers on their modesty. The students displayed their skills during an impressive show as a mark of culmination of camp at Raghunathpura Centre of HISI. Chief Guest of the occasion was Anita Sharma, Commandant 15th Bn (IRP) and Nisha Nathyal, Commandant 7th Bn (JKAP) was the Guest of Honour, whereas Special Guests of the occasion were Mamta Sharma, SP (CID Jammu), Shashi Thakur, DSP (Railways),Anita Pawar, DSP (Civil Defence), Usha Kher, DSP (Airport), Arun Jandial, DSP (City), Basanti Bhat, Inspector (CID) and Vishal Sharma, SHO (City). HISI has the vision to uplift the place of women in the society and make them self-reliant. Girls and Women trainees of the NGO have been trained in 'Self Defence'. The program started with a 'Warm Up Drill' and was followed by 'Pair Demo'; 'Chair Demo'; 'Board Breaking and 'Marble Breaking'. The students exhibited lot of grit and enthusiasm during the display. Guest's appreciated the efforts of executive members and expressed satisfaction over the way HISI is transforming its vision into reality. They guided the students to stay active and alert, while using this skill in public in the hour of need. Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman HISI briefed the guests about the achievement of the students of the NGO and the latest events held so far. Prominent citizens namely Gautam Gupta, Vicky Mahajan, Music Director Brij Mohan, Raj Kumar Sodi, Shammi Slathia, Prabha Slathia, Bimla Slathia, Ambika Verma and Raj Kumar Mehra were present during the event. Gourav Abrol, Secretary, HISI presented the vote of thanks and assured the gathering that Healthy India Stronger India will continue to work for up gradation of the society, irrespective of any caste or religion. |
