Jammu Film Festival postponed | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 13: The much awaited Jammu Film Festival has been postponed to September. This was announced by the Festival Directors Rakesh Roshan Bhat and Rohit Bhat while announcing the new dates. "The earlier plan was to conduct the festival in May when the festival was announced in February this year. However, due to the unfortunate Pulwama incident and thereafter the elections the festival core team didn't find it appropriate to go ahead with the festival in May" said Rohit Bhat. "This festival is about celebrating Jammu for its contribution to art and cinema internationally. It is also about the energy, festivities and hospitality that Jammu has to offer. So, we thought it is very important that we wait till all the political disturbances settle down after elections and the weather also gets nicer. We are striving to create a world class yet homely experience for all the guests, participants and delegates in the festival" commented Rakesh on being asked why the festival was postponed to September. The festival core team of over 10 members is currently chalking out details and schedule of the festival. Renowned actors from the state Lalit Parimoo and Mushtaq Kak are part of the core team. The core team is diverse and represents the spirit of Jammu in true essence. Besides, the expertise in Cinema and Theatre the core team brings expertise across event management, youth engagement and technology. |
