Vikramaditya accuses Kishtwar Admn of 'hampering' Cong poll campaign | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 13: Senior Congress leader and party candidate from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary Constituency Vikramaditya Singh on Saturday accused Kishtwar Administration of discriminating against Congress and National Conference by restricting the movement of their leaders and workers. He also accused the authorities of facilitating the BJP workers by providing lopsided assistance and generous tactical support denting severely the spirit of free and fair polls. In a statement issued here, the Congress candidate subtly alleged that the local Administration in Kishtwar is showing bias by taking side of the workers and leaders of Saffron party by allowing them to move freely in the curfew bound areas of the city for canvassing. He said the workers of Congress and National Conference are not even allowed to even step out of their homes thus stopping them from campaigning. He also alleged that Kishtwar Administration is also stopping its leaders to visit the town on the pretext of law and order scenario. Claiming the move to be full of prejudice and bias, the Congress candidate asked the Kishtwar administration to justify its stand of allowing workers of BJP candidate Dr Jitendra Singh to move freely in the vicinity for party campaigning and imposing curbs on movement of workers of other parties. He asked the ECI to take cognizance and issue necessary instructions besides taking befitting action against black sheep in the administration which are marring the spirit of free and fair elections. He also appealed various sections of society, particularly the youth, students and traders, to vote and support Congress in the forthcoming elections to stop 'discrimination' with Chenab Valley. "The role of BJP in particular has disappointed the people of Chenab Valley to the extent that their faith in the political system is eroded badly", he said and promised that if elected he will undo all the discrimination and will untiringly work to uplift the poor and deserving sections of society. |
