Kids Campus holds Baisakhi quiz competition | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 13: Kids Campus International Pre-School, Channi Himmat, Jammu celebrated Baisakhi with complete zeal and fervour here today. Starting from the morning assembly to the theme based activities the day was full of joyous learning for the children. In the morning assembly, the children were addressed with a speech educating them about the various facts of the festival and a fun quiz activity was done to make the assembly more interactive. The students responded readily to the questions and they were very indeed participative and happy. A host of theme based activities were planned for various grades with a prime motive of helping children learn various aspects of the festival of Baisakhi. The themes chosen were- "Gabroo" for Boys and "Mutiaar" for Girls. The children also spent time reflecting on the significance of Baisakhi in the present milieu. They also understood stubble burning as an environmental hazard and created posters with the slogan: "Say No to Stubble Burning" The students were shown Power Point Presentations and videos to enlighten them about the festival and they thoroughly enjoyed them. Anwita, Aarav and Arpita were declared best among the various grades. Director of the school Adhiti Gupta while addressing the kids, encouraged them to value their culture and respect it. Gupta motivated to imbibe values prescribed by the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. She also reiterated how stubble burning harms the environment. Teachers prepared models for the students and showed them pictures and videos to help them understand what Baisakhi is. The students carried home the Baisakhi craft that they had created in the school. The day was full of joy and learning for the students. |
