Sikhs to accord grand reception to International Nagar Kirtan | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 2: Chairman State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board, J&K, Trilochan Singh Wazir today declared that Sikh Sangat of the State and other people in general shall accord grand reception to the 'International Nagar Kirtan' entering J&K on August 4, 2019 from Lakhanpur. While addressing a press conference here today, Wazir said that it is an occasion of great religious importance that this Nagar Kirtan which started from Nankana Sahib, birth place of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 1st of August, will be entering J&K on 4th of August on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Wazir said the historic Nagar Kirtan is aimed to spread Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings of eternal love, peace, equality and brotherhood across the globe and has entered India through Wagah border in Punjab adding that a grand welcome has been arranged by State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board in coordination with different district Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees of Jammu region under the patronage of Mahant Manjit Singh ji of Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch and Sant Tejwant Singh of Sant Pura Danna. Prominent citizens and higher Govt functionaries along with Sangat of Jammu and Kashmir will reach Lakhanpur in large numbers to offer a grand welcome to the Nagar Kirtan. District Gurdwara Parbandhak Commitees of Rajouri-Nowshera, Udhampur, Samba and Kathua have decided to send number of buses and other modes of transport to facilitate the Sangat to reach Lakhanpur for the grand welcome. Similarly State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board Jammu and Kashmir and District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu has also made elaborate arrangements of transport for Sangat of Jammu and adjoining areas. |
