JAMMU, Aug 2: The resident of the Sainik Colony is facing huge problems regarding roads, sanitation, Drainage as well as the heaps of garbage on the roadside are welcoming residents along with visitors. Sudhir Singh, Pritam Kumar Ajay Singh, Mannu, KK Sharma and others told Early Times expressed dismay over the negligible approach of the concerned authorities with regards to the construction of roads and other developmental works in the area. "Digging was done by different agencies but now it seems the concerned executing agencies have forgotten to complete the work and have left the lanes in pathetic conditions which have caused apprehensions of accidents," they stated, adding that some of lanes and roads are in a bad condition as no one bothers to take stock of the developmental works in the area. Few roads have now become accident-prone and it is very difficult to drive a two-wheeler due to the deep potholes. They added that the last four to five years, no one had come here to redressal the problem and since then the same condition of roads and no blacktopping work has done on the roads. "We never see local MLA in the area due to which the development works in the said area hanged in balance," they said, adding that 'Netas' do visit only when they need votes after getting the vote they disappear and don't concerned about the basic development works. Moreover, they also further added that the heaps of garbage were scattered on the roads creating a nuisance for them all the time. The garbage as some time the Safaikarmcharis do lift garbage timely or sometimes garbage remains on the roadside due to which the dirty smell creates problems. But no one has paid heed to their grievances. Locals had submitted a complaint of their deplorable road and chocked drains, locals are being forced to live in the area unhygienic condition. |
