Tehsildar takes 1 month to complete probe; accused shielded | Bribe case against Patwari | | AB Sharma Early Times Report sunderbani, Aug 2: The undue delay on the part of Tehsildar Siot (Rajouri), in completing the inquiry against the Patwari Pajwal for allegedly demanding bribe from a person in lieu of issuing registration record of his land has raised the finger on the department which is making all efforts to shield the corrupt Patwari. Pertinently, an audio clip went viral on July 8, 2019 in which Patwari Halqa Pajwal Shafiq Ahmad was demanding Rs 2500 from one Rakesh Kumar for issuance of document of his land. Taking note of issue, ADC Vinod Kumar attached the Patwari with his office and initiated inquiry of the matter and appointed Tehsildar Siot as the inquiry officer. Sources said that victim recorded his statement before Tehsildar Siot as soon as the inquiry was started, but the inquiry process was delayed and it took one month to complete the inquiry to allegedly shield the corrupt Patwari. "In order to save himself, the Patwari entered into a compromise with the complainant and took an affidavit from Rakesh Kumar that it was just misunderstanding which has been resolved and he would issue the documents to Rakesh Kumar as soon as possible. He attached this affidavit with inquiry report which clearly shows that Patwari was at fault, that is why he took affidavit from Rakesh Kumar," sources said. They further said that the Patwari issued document to Rakesh Kumar when he is attached which raises finger on the fairness of the administration and its senior officers who are hell bent to save this Patwari. "Although the accused Patwari is attached, he is working at Patwari Pajwal and doing normal work," sources said. Locals appealed to Governor SP Malik to take notice of the matter and demanded Vigilance inquiry against the Patwari and his seniors who are saving him. |
